Common appliance problems

Not draining properly
  • Check the drain hose for kinks;
  • Check any lint filters that may be in or on the drain hose;
  • Drain your tub then disconnect and inspect the hoses for foreign objects.
Will not spin and/or agitate
  • Adjust the load during the cycle to help your washer balance;
  • Check the setting to ensure that the speed selector switch is properly positioned;
  • A washing machine has a number of belts and as they wear, they can break.
Washer leaking water
  • Check the connections on the hose to ensure they are secure;
  • Check the condition of the drain hose, it should be free of cracks and damage;
  • Check the drain hose for any clogs. You might just find your missing sock.
Dryer won't turn on
  • Check the power supply first to ensure that electricity is reaching your dryer;
  • If the breakers haven't been tripped, it's possible that the outlet needs to be replaced;
  • You may need to open the cabinet in order to troubleshoot and replace the switch depending on your model and manufacturer.
Noisy dryer
  • Dryers often have plastic glides located in the front end of the drum which over time show signs of wear and need to be replaced;
  • The lid switch is located inside the cabinet near the door frame. A faulty switch will prevent the washer from running;
  • Often lint or other objects find there way into the blower wheel.
Does not tumble
  • When the dryer's belt is worn or broken it won't be able to turn the drum. You'll need to replace the belt to get your dryer working again;
  • The dryer drum sits on top of drum support rollers and over time the rollers become worn and need to be replaced;
  • However, when the dryer is on and you hear a buzzing or no sound at all there's a good chance that your motor has seized.
Dishes come out of the dishwasher dirty
  • Check for any grease, debris, or blockages in the strain screen and door gasket;
  • The culprit could also be your spray arms, so try to spin the bottom and top arms with your hand to make sure they spin easily;
  • If your glasses and plates come out with a white residue on them, you may have hard water.
Dishwasher doesn’t dry your dishes
  • If your heating element is in working order, check the high-limit thermostat (a device that prevents the dishwasher from getting too hot);
  • You can usually find your high limit at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, directly behind the access panel;
  • You can use a multimeter to check the device.
Dishwasher doesn’t start
  • Check the power sources — make sure you haven’t blown a fuse, and ensure the outlet isn’t malfunctioning;
  • Try unplugging the dishwasher and plugging it back in;
  • Сheck for any problems with the latch before continuing.
Refrigerant leaks
  • If it leaks, simply adding refrigerant is not a solution;
  • A trained technician should fix any leak, test the repair, and then charge the system with the correct amount of refrigerant;
  • The performance and efficiency of your air conditioner is greatest when the refrigerant charge exactly matches the manufacturer's specification.
Electric control failure
  • The compressor and fan controls can wear out, especially when the air conditioner turns on and off frequently, as is common when a system is oversized;
  • Because corrosion of wire and terminals is also a problem in many systems, electrical connections and contacts should be checked during a professional service call.
Sensor problems
  • Room air conditioners feature a thermostat sensor, located behind the control panel, which measures the temperature of air coming into the evaporative coil;
  • If the sensor is knocked out of position, the air conditioner could cycle constantly or behave erratically;
  • The sensor should be near the coil but not touching it; adjust its position by carefully bending the wire that holds it in place.
Surface burner won't light
  • This could be caused by the pilot light's having been extinguished or the burner portholes getting clogged;
  • If your gas stove is equipped with an electric igniter, make sure the stove is plugged in and, if so, check that the circuit breaker has not been tripped.
Pilot light goes out
  • If the flame of the burner continually goes out, clean out the the pilot light opening;
  • If that doesn't work, try adjusting the flame of the pilot light itself.
Weak burner flame
  • If the burner flame on top of the oven appears to be less impressive than normal, the problem could be clogged burner flame openings;
  • If the burner flame on top of the oven appears to be less impressive than normal, the problem could be clogged burner flame openings. Low-quality flames could also be caused by too little gas or too little air getting to the burner;
  • Adjust the air shutter to see if the problem is air, but call for a pro if you suspect the problem is not enough gas.

The service was amazing!!! Valdek was very straightforward and honest. He repaired the issue with my AC. I'm definitely going to use him again and again!

Five stars seem really less for this company. My dishwasher was not cleaning so we called Siberia to come. A technician was polite and very efficient and fixed my dishwashers disposal which was full of gunk.
